How I Spent My Summer Vacation

How did you spend your summer vacation? Me? I spent mine in the laundry room. And at the ballfields. It was awesome. And hot. But mostly awesome.

There are so many ways we can record our memories. Taking pictures, creating collages, journaling...the list really goes on and on. Some artists enjoy keeping sketchbooks or creating artworks of their memories, something that will bring back the memories of places they have been or things they have experienced.

And some of the best artwork comes form that place inside of us. That place of real connection. It really shows through whatever medium you are working with - that little piece of you that is tied into your work.

I encourage you to sift through your summer memories and create a piece that tells a story of your summer vacation. How did you spend your time? At the beach? Reading books? On a vacation or visiting your family? Maybe you relaxed, gamed, played, rode your bike...whatever you did that brought you joy over the summer, that helped make this summer amazing, work with that and make something awesome!

You are welcome to use whatever medium you would like. I used watercolor paints. But anything you enjoy working with is going to be wonderful. Just be sure to put those fun memories into your piece.

If you are looking for more help, you are welcome to check out the video below. As always, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I hope this project helps get those creative juices flowing and gets you ready for a fun, artsy school year! I cannot wait to see your finished projects.

Enjoy, guys, and happy arting! - Chris
