Watercolors. They can bring up such a strong emotion in people. There really is no middle of the road, people LOVE them OR they HATE them.
Personally, I was terrified of them a few years ago when my art teacher suggested I try them. I mean, I loved LOOKING at artwork done in watercolor. I think I was envious of the artist's ability of being able to control such an out of control medium. But I have been so thankful for people, like my art teacher, giving me the push I need to try new things.
Over the past couple years I have found a new appreciation for watercolors. I would dare to say I kind of love working with them. Once I enbrace the "out-of-controlness" of the medium and use the tips and trick I have learned (either from others or from my own trial and error), I find the medium relaxing and freeing.
